“I came here last night, it was the first time I saw a show here, I saw John Cruz play. And what better way to have an impression of a bar than to see John Cruz, play it was wonderful. It sounded good, he sounds good. When I got to the green room, when you play shows they have some food and stuff set up. And so it was nice to see a bottle of whiskey with the sunset behind it out the window. You don’t get that in every venue that you play. So I took a mental picture of that and saved it.”

“I think a bar dedicated to surfing, it means surfing is finally grown up and especially on the North Shore, you know some of the most professional waterman and athletes live and compete and this is still a gathering spot for surfers around the world during the winter season. I think it (Surfer, The Bar) is super appropriate and I’m stoked!”
– Reno Abellira, Pro Surfer

- Meiko
“I love this place! There’s a really, really nice sound system here and I’m excited to play my show. It’s really, cozy indoors so I’m happy about it. It’s very, very intimate here and I like it.”

“I come here (Turtle Bay) every year and now they added Surfer, The Bar and they did a great job. And I think with Turtle Bay incorporating a ton of music and people coming from all over the state is a good idea. And I’m a big fan of Surfer Magazine and spend a lot of time here at Turtle Bay.”
– Timmy Curran, Singer, Songwriter and Pro Surfer

- Jamie Mitchell
“I like it! It’s the first time I’ve been here since it’s been upgraded to Surfer, The Bar and it looks really good. I’m looking forward to having a good time tonight.”
– Jamie Mitchell, 10x Paddle boarding World Champion
“I think it’s awesome…it’s got a real upbeat vibe to it. I love the cafe feeling and
the loungey along with the live music and the talk story. It’s a great place for friends to gather with the local community and surfers as well as different events and just mingling with the different visitors that come through the island, so it’s great.”
- Rochelle Ballard, Pro Surfer, considered the best female tube rider in the world.
“Surfer, The Bar is super rad. It’s at Turtle Bay, it’s beautiful and the settings
awesome!”
- Carissa Moore, 2011 ASP Women’s World Tour Champion
